Aircraft Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying above a crowded California coastline suddenly started spinning wildly, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Videos posted on social media show the helicopter starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling towards the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Details on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
